Ouch. That blows. My fitbit flex is supposed to be okay to wear in the shower, but I don’t even want to try that…

Yeah I’ve been running with my phone in my belt before in the rain, but I think 2 hours in torrential downpour was just too much for it! It’s my own fault, really. Luckily I have insurance or else it would have worked out to be a very expensive run.

Really put my “waterproof” running belt to the test this morning. It failed. I’m now waiting on a replacement iPhone from O2. fml.

Had to be up at 5:30am to squeeze in a 3 miler before work and was awarded with this glorious sunrise.

Little rainbow in the clouds! I know I complain about it in the winter, but I’m loving the rain we’ve been having lately. Summer rain is so refreshing while running!

Switched my long run to today as the weather was absolutely biblical yesterday. So glad I did as it was perfect this morning. Sunny with a light breeze, lovely! Pretty average pace, nothing spectacular. Although my last two 10k runs this week have been just brilliant speed-wise so I’m not too concerned.

Hill repeats! Another great run this morning, the cooler weather feels so good after our mini heat wave.

Really great run today. It’s finally cooled down and the light breeze made for perfect conditions. First run for months that I’ve felt strong and not totally knackered throughout. Days like this remind me of why I keep running.

I was dreading my long run this morning as the UK is currently in the midst of a heatwave. I won’t say how warm it is as I’m sure any of my followers from America/Australia/etc will be all like “you call that hot?!?!”, but lets just say we British are not used to such temperatures, so yeah it feels hot as hell.

My last few long runs have been rather unpleasant due to the heat, but I realised today this is pretty much my fault. I was being a twat about hydration and not bothering to take any water out with me. This morning I decided to just deal with the annoyance of carrying a bottle and my run was soooo much easier. So yeah, lesson learned.

I was also stuck at the bascule bridge next to a rather eccentric chap who greeted me with “where’s the fucking boat, eh?” We had a nice chat about running and swimming as we waited for the boat that eventually turned up to go through.

Yesterday at my kickboxing class this new guy refused to join the group because there were “too many women”.

The funny thing is, usually our ratio is around 50/50 men to women, it just so happened that yesterday quite a few of the male students were absent. But to be honest I’m glad, because who wants to be in a class with someone like that?

I don’t think my Nike+ gps was quite accurate on my 6 mile run today
